GIFTED students are to be given the chance to have a masterclass with award-winning writer Michael Morpurgo next Wednesday.
The Whitbread award-winning writer will hold sessions to train students in the art of creative writing as part of a workshop led by English Advisory Service advanced skill teachers.
Each school in Herts has nominated two pupils from years seven or eight who are talented in literacy for a place in the workshops which will be held at the Wheathampstead teacher training centre.
Those chosen will contribute to an anthology which will be produced to celebrate the day.
Michael Morpurgo has won the Smarties Book Prize, the Whitbread Children's Novel Award and was made Children's Laureate in 2003.
