A SNAZZY new mobile phone had scores of people queuing outside a St Albans shop today.
O2 launched the iPhone 4 - the thinnest smartphone in the world - this morning, and no fewer than 80 people crammed outside the O2 shop on St Peter’s Street to get their hands on it.
The model, which has the highest resolution display ever built into a phone, has provoked the longest queues outside UK O2 stores in the phone company’s history, and an O2 spokesperson said that she was overwhelmed by the public’s response.
“This is the biggest iPhone launch that we have seen to date and queues outside O2 stores have been at least twice as long as previous years. We are looking after queuing O2 customers by providing them with drinks, cakes and newspapers!”
Anyone who wants to get their hands on an iPhone4 can check stocks online at http://stock.o2.co.uk, which is updated five times a day.
