Two men in their 60s and 70s have been sexually assaulted in St Albans.

Police are hunting an Asian man in his 30s, of medium build with straight, ear-length black hair and large front teeth, in connection with the assaults.

The first two incidents occurred in Cottonmill Lane between May 12 and May 23. On both occasions the victim, a man in his 70s, was approached by a man and touched. On the first occasion the man touched him on the head and shoulder, and the second time on the head, shoulder and thigh.

Then a man in his 60s cycling down Cottonmill Lane, close to the junction with Prospect Road, at about 10.20pm on Tuesday, June 6, as approached by a man who touched him inappropriately.

Investigating officer Det Con Gareth John said: “I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed these incidents or believes they know the offender to get in touch.

“I am also keen to speak to anyone who believes they been approached in the similar way by this man to contact me via Hertfordshire Constabulary’s non-emergency 101, quoting crime reference F1/17/2681.”
