FIREFIGHTERS were left on standby after a man threatened to set a property on fire overnight.
They were called to the scene in Selby Avenue at around 2am this morning (Friday) but their assistance was not required.
A police spokesperson confirmed that officers attended a property in the road at around 1.40am following a domestic incident.
A 29 year old man from St Albans was arrested on suspicion of assault and affray and he remains in police custody.
