A MOTORCYCLIST has this afternoon (Tuesday) been taken to Watford Hospital with a broken leg following a collision at a dangerous junction near Colney Heath.

A spokeswoman for Herts police said the motorcyclist was thrown from his Kawasaki after it collided with a Nissan Micra at 12.10pm at the Colney Heath longabout on the A414.

According to an East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust spokeswoman, the motorcyclist was taken to Watford Hospital as one leg was broken, and his ankle in the other leg was suspected of also being broken.

Road diversions that were put in place around the scene of the collision have now been lifted.

The dangerous junction near the village of Colney Heath claimed the life of motorcyclist Neal Christian in 2011 and has for many years attracted criticism from local residents.
