A 29 year old man has been found with a stab wound at the forecourt of a petrol station in St Albans early this morning (Tuesday).
Paramedics were called to the Esso Garage on London Road, and the man has been taken to a hospital in London.
A spokeswoman for Herts Police said that following initial investigations, it was believed that he might have been stabbed two blocks away, in the vicinity of the Beehive pub, on Keyfield Terrace off London Road.
Officers were called at 2.13am to the forecourt of the service station by paramedics attending the man.
A 20 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and inquiries are continuing.
