A man in his 40s was rushed to hospital this morning after suffering severe burns to his face while at work near Park Street.
Emergency services, including the Herts Air Ambulance, were called to Frogmore Business Park at around 10.30am when the man injured himself.
He was airlifted to Bloomfield Hospital in Chelmsford which houses a regional Burns and Plastic Centre.
Roads were closed by police shortly after the incident and were reopened just before 12pm.
The Health and Safety Executive are investigating.
