A MAN is to appear in court next month after being charged with depositing controlled waste in Redbourn in May.

Dean Gale, 42, of Hemel Hempstead, was arrested in connection with the incident in Punch Bowl Lane in May.

He was arrested and charged last week and has been bailed to appear at St Albans Magistrates Court next Tuesday, September 8.

The arrest followed a proactive operation by the Harpenden Safer Neighbourhood Team and St Albans District Council.

Sgt Lewis Ducket, of the neighbourhood team, said tackling fly-tipping in Redbourn was a priority for officers who covered the area.

He called on anyone who saw any fly-tipping to contact the neighbourhood team on 01707 354192 or 0845 33 00 222.
