A MAN and his dog had a very lucky escape when they both fell into a frozen lake in St Albans this afternoon (Friday, February 10).
The East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) were alerted to Verulamium Park shortly after 1.10pm. A paramedic ambulance from Hemel Hempstead attended the scene.
Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: “On our arrival, the man and the dog had managed to free themselves from the icy water get to the island in the middle of the lake, where they were eventually rescued by fire fighters. “Following assessments by paramedics, the man did not require to go to hospital.”
