A HELICOPTER was scrambled to treat a man who collapsed in a field yesterday (Thursday) morning.
The man in his 50s collapsed in common land in Coursers Road, Colney Heath, at around 3.35pm and ambulance crews from St Albans and Watford were called to the scene before requesting the assistance of the air ambulance.
Service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: “Due to the patient’s condition and the distance the patient was away from the main road, Helimed 7, the Essex Air Ambulance, was called upon to attend the incident. Air and land crew paramedics and a doctor from the helicopter treated and stabilised the man at the scene before he was conveyed by land to Watford General Hospital.”
