A MAN has been charged with an armed robbery at a local petrol station.
The robbery took place on January 26 at the Marks and Spencer Simply Food store at the BP garage in Watling Street, Park Street.
It is alleged that the culprit was armed with what appeared to be a black handgun and made off with four bottles of wine.
The incident was captured on CCTV footage which was released to the media.
Peter Gimlinger, aged 24, from Bluebell Drive in Abbots Langley was arrested in Hemel Hempstead on Saturday (May 16) in relation to a separate public order offence and was subsequently charged with the armed robbery.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at St Albans Crown Court in July.
