A MAN has been charged following an alleged hit and run incident outside a wake on Monday night.
As revealed by the Herts Advertiser today, victim Deryck Bell had been attending friend Alex Lewis’ wake in the London Road Social Club before he was involved in an accident with a black Ford Focus in Mountbatten Close, St Albans, at around 8pm.
The young father from St Albans remains in a London hospital in a serious but stable condition this morning.
Ricky Hall, 28 from Francis Avenue, St Albans, was arrested yesterday (Wednesday) and has now been charged with dangerous driving, GBH with intent, and driving without insurance and a driving licence.
He has been remanded in custody and is expected to appear at Hatfield magistrates court today.
