A man was beaten by a gang of thugs during an early hours assault in St Albans city centre.
The 22-year-old victim was attacked in St Peter’s Street, near the taxi rank, at about 3.10am on February 1.
He suffered bruising and swelling to his face after being repeatedly punched, and may require surgery to his nose.
His attackers are described as four black men in their 20s. The main offender had short black hair and was wearing dark coloured clothing.
Investigating officer PC Joel Gill said: “A couple kindly helped the victim get a taxi and made sure he got home. Unfortunately we don’t have any details for these two people and I ask that they make contact with me as they may have vital information. I would also appeal to anyone else who may have been in the area at the time and saw what happened to contact me.”
Anyone who can help is asked to contact PC Gill via the Herts Police non-emergency number 101.
