Man arrested after 10 dead cats are found in car

TEN dead cats were found in a car belonging to a St Albans man after police were alerted to reports of him inflicting animal cruelty.

The man in his 30s was arrested and has since been charged with animal cruelty. He has appeared before magistrates.

Police were called by a member of the public alerting them to an incident in a car park in Chells Way, Stevenage, on Thursday night at around 8.30pm.

Eight dead kittens and the bodies of two cats were found in the vehicle along with a dog which was unharmed.

Detectives and the RSPCA are currently investigating and the car involved is undergoing forensic examination.
