A 23-year-old man remains in a critical condition after a stabbing in Wisbech


A man and a woman appeared at Hatfield Remand Court charged with conspiracy to burgle houses in Harpenden and Radlett.

Timothy Hall, 41, and Jessica Tombleson, 34, both of no fixed address, were arrested on Tuesday, June 12 on suspicion of conspiracy to burgle with intent to steal.

The charges related to eight burglaries which took place in Harpenden and one in Radlett between January 4 and May 7 this year.

In the majority of the burglaries, locks were snapped off conservatory doors and property including vehicles, jewellery, laptops and cash were stolen.

Hall and Tombleson have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at St Alban Crown Court on Thursday, July 19.

I should probably have taken the hint! Walking out into the garden recently an unprecedented flock of thirty or more crows raucously greeted me from the treetops at the bottom of my garden. Cawing and croaking these big, black birds clung clumsily to the top most branches and twigs, jostling and flapping to stay balanced in a constant flurry of feathers. There is always something ominous about crows – they are after all carrion crows, the vultures of the bird world – always watching for scraps and weakness that might mean their next meal.
