Man airlifted to hospital after being crushed by digger in St Albans

A man has been airlifted to hospital following a lunchtime incident on a St Albans building site involving a digger.
Police, ambulance and fire services were called to Beaufort House, next to the Ziggurat building in Grosvenor Road, at around 12.30pm today (18).
It is believed that a man in his 30s fell down a hole and was crushed by a digger. He has been taken to Royal London Hospital in a serious condition with injuries to his abdoman and pelvis.
