A BUSY St Albans road will be closed this weekend for repairs.

Drakes Drive will be shut in both directions until 5pm on Sunday (21) while Hertfordshire Highways repair subsidence in the road.

The affected area needs to be excavated back to stable ground and strengthened with reinstating material before it can be resurfaced.

Most Drakes Drive residents can still access their properties from London Road, although those living in houses 1 to 8 should access their homes via Camp Road. There will also be a diversion in place for motorists.
