A PUBLIC exhibition about the next stage of the M25 widening works will take place this week.

The Highways Agency began work to widen the motorway from three lanes to four between junctions 16 and 23 in April 2009 and work is on the next phase of the project is due to start in June. Three lanes will remain open in both directions during the work.

Geoff Chatfield, senior project manager, said: “The M25 is one of Europe’s busiest motorways. This major improvement work will deliver much needed capacity and road users will benefit from reduced congestion, improved journey time, reliability and safety.

“We are on schedule to complete the current phase in May and will begin the final phase in June.

“The exhibitions will give people the chance to find out more about the next phase, to speak to the project team about how the work is progressing, how we are looking to minimise the impact of the work on the local community, and how we will keep traffic moving.”

The exhibition will take place at the London Colney Community Centre in Caledon Road from 3.30pm to 9pm on Friday (April 1) and between 10am and 5pm on Saturday (April 2.)
