A SERIOUS accident on the M25 early this morning is still causing significant travel problems around the area.

The incident happened on the clockwise carriageway between junctions 21a and 22 at around 7am and involved four lorries and a van.

At least one person has sustained serious injures and the road has been closed for recovery and investigations since.

Motorists are being advised to avoid the area and there are significant delays on the A414 and all other routes into St Albans from the south.
