MOTORISTS are reminded that the M1 will be closed overnight on Saturday between Junction 8 at Hemel Hempstead and 9 at Redbourn.
The motorway closure, to allow the Junction 8 overbridge to be demolished, will be in place from 8pm on Saturday through to 2pm on Sunday.
Work to put in and remove the roadworks is likely to add an additional hour to those closure times.
Fully-signed diversion routes will be in place but road users are advised to seek alternative routes or leave extra time for their journeys because long delays are expected.
The bridge is the final one to be demolished as part of the scheme to widen the M1 to four lanes in each direction.
