POLICE presence will be increased in Harpenden and St Albans on Saturday in anticipation of the Luton v Millwall home FA Cup match.

Herts constabulary will be monitoring football fans drinking in the area on their way up north to the game and assisting police officers in Bedfordshire.

British Transport Police will be stationed along the railway line between Luton and London, with officers on trains and at railway stations.

Chief Supt Mike Colbourne said: “Please don’t travel to Luton if you haven’t been lucky enough to get a ticket for the game as you will be unable to get into the ground, and unless you are a home fan you will be unable to see it in the pub either.”

The sell-out game is expected to attract 1,500 Millwall fans.
