A 21-year-old man who damaged Sir John Lawes School property and threatened to burn down the Old Cock Inn has been sentenced by magistrates.
Callum Butler, from Parys Road in Luton, was fined a total of £985 for two crime sprees on Saturday, September 2 and Wednesday, September 27.
On the Saturday he damaged two pictures belonging to Sir John Lawes School, attacked a marked police car, and was drunk and disorderly on Wroxham Way.
Then on the Wednesday Butler damaged the shop window of Johnson Dry Cleaners, and told the owner of the Old Cock Inn he would burn the 17th century pub down.
On Tuesday, October 17, Butler pleaded guilty and St Albans magistrates ordered him to pay costs and compensation totalling £985.
He has to pay a lump sum of £10, then a further £10 a month from Tuesday, November 14 until the sum is cleared.
