A four-car crash which has closed two lanes of the M1 is causing heavy traffic today.

Highways England reported a collision on the northbound carriageway shortly after 11am between Junction 10 and 11 for Luton.

Police and the ambulance service have both been called to the scene, with lanes three and four closed.

Traffic is backing up as far as Junction 8 for Hemel Hempstead.
