A lorry fire closed the M25 anticlockwise carriageway in the early hours of this morning.
At about 4am Herts Fire and Rescue Service were called to between junctions 22 and 23, by Potters Bar and towards St Albans, to extinguish a blaze in a lorry on the motorway.
Crews came from St Albans, Borehamwood and Potters Bar, and used a jet on the flames.
All lanes in that direction were closed off while firefighters dealt with the incident.
Although the carriageway has now reopened, one lane is still closed and Highways England do not expect usual driving conditions to return until 11am.
