A St Albans man is running the London Marathon to raise money for a homelessness charity.
Jonathan Fisher is taking part in the marathon on Sunday, April 28 in aid of Open Door, which helps homeless people and those at risk of homelessness in St Albans.
Open Door has pledged £1,500 towards Jonathan's run, and he aims to raise £2,500 in total.
Sarah Chambers, Open Door's volunteer coordinator, said: “Jon has been amazing, he has visited us at Open Door and is aware of the work that we do, and the challenges we face. We have every faith in Jon, and know that he'll give it his all on the day.”
Jonathan is training by going on 20-mile runs, and hopes to run the marathon in under four hours.
Open Door founder Kerry Pollard said: “I'm really pleased that Jon has made us his choice this year.
“He will raise much needed funds for the work we do.”
