A FOOTBALL fanatic from London Colney is hoping to score a place in the semi-finals of a Miss England competition.

22-year-old Natalie Clowes of Shenley Lane, who plays left back for St Albans City Ladies FC, is one of 21 finalists in the Miss Fresh Photographic competition and will go through to the semi-finals of Miss England if she wins the public vote.

Manchester United FC super-fan Natalie, who used to go to St Albans Girls School, said that she entered the competition on a whim: "I just went for it one evening because I thought, why not? Everything has happened so quickly since then and I can't believe that I may get through to the semi-finals of Miss England!"

Natalie, who studied American Popular Culture and Television and Film at university and now lives at home with her mum and two younger brothers, said that she was currently trying to secure as many online votes as possible to try and win Miss Fresh Photographic.

She added: "I'm a very modest person so asking people to vote for me is quite a strange situation to be in. Hopefully all my friends and family will get behind me and, as long as I have their support, I can feel optimistic about getting through to the next stage of the competition."

You can place your vote for Natalie by texting "Natalie Clowes" to 84205 or by ringing 0901 656 1500 and entering the number 18. Votes cost 60p plus your standard network charge.
