A by-election has been announced for a seat on London Colney Parish Council.

Conservative Stephen Pearl and Liberal Democrat Tony Lillico are standing for the North-West ward.

Whoever wins the election, which is being held on Thursday, October 4, will serve until May next year.

Two polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm at London Colney Baptist Church Hall on Kings Road and the cricket pavilion on Pegrum Way.

The deadline for postal votes has passed, although there is still time to make a proxy vote application, which should be submitted by 5pm on Wednesday, September 26. An emergency proxy vote can be made up to 5pm on election day.

Forms to vote by proxy are available from St Albans council’s offices at the Civic Centre on St Peter’s Street. They can also be downloaded from www.yourvotematters.co.uk and should be returned to the above address.
