A by-election has been announced for a seat on London Colney Parish Council.
The election for the North West ward, which has around 2,500 voters, will take place on Thursday, October 4, with two polling stations open from 7am to 10pm.
Candidates can submit nomination papers to the returning officer from now until 4pm on Friday, September 7.
The candidate list will be announced the following Monday (10) and if there is more than one person put forward, the election will go ahead.
The successful candidate will only serve until next May, when all nine members of the parish council will be up for re-election.
Nomination forms are available from the Civic Centre or the parish council’s offices at the London Colney Community Centre.
Anyone who is not registered can do so online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. Election questions can be asked via elections@stalbans.gov.uk or 01727 819294.
