LOCALISM and what it means for residents in the district will come under the spotlight next Wednesday, when a visiting speaker comes to town.

Tony Burton, director of Civic Voice, a charity for the civic movement in the UK, will talk about Localism and Us, concentrating on how it will affect the city, its people and the Civic Society.

Admission to the talk, which starts at 8pm, is free. It will be held at The Cross Street Centre, Baptist Church, on Upper Dagnall Street.
