A life-saving defibrillator has been installed in Southdown.
Harpenden Village Rotary Club presented the defibrillator to the mayor of Harpenden, Rosemary Farmer, on Thursday, June 22.
The defibrillator is outside the Harpenden Trust Hall. Training in how to use it will be available for businesses and organisations in the area.
President Brian Grant said: “We are delighted that an important emergency lifesaving facility is now available to the people of Harpenden 24 hours a day.
“We thank the Harpenden Trust for allowing it to be installed at their premises and Rotary Foundation, the international charitable organisation of Rotary, for funding it in recognition of their one hundredth anniversary of operation.”
The mayor congratulated the Rotary club on its 100th aniversary and Cedric Kennedy, chairman of the Harpenden Trust, said the trust was pleased to enable the installation as it was further support for the community.
Training dates for businesses will be published on the Rotary website, www.hrvc.net, when they are available.
