Latin beats at barbecue in St Albans park

PUBLISHED: 15:00 18 July 2015

Latino culture comes to a St Albans park this Sunday at a charity barbecue in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

The event is being held at Greenwood Park Community Centre in Chiswell Green and runs from 1pm to 6pm with entry free but donations welcomed.

It has been organised by Mish Yanni who runs Salsa Mish at the community centre and will offer a chance to dance to the Palenke, a leading UK Latin band, and some of the country’s top Latin DJs.

There will be dance instruction on salsa, bachata or kisomba at special workshops as well as professional dance demonstrations. For children there will be face painting and craft activities and mini Latin lessons.

Mish said: “We welcome everyone who wants to experience some Latin ‘fuego’, have fun and at the same time raise money for a good cause.”
