A man arrested following a substance attack in Radlett has been remanded in custody ahead of a crown court appearance next month.

Frank Brinkley, 51, of no fixed address, appeared in Hatfield Remand Court today charged with attempted murder, throwing a corrosive substance on a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, actual bodily harm and two counts of harassment.

He was arrested following an incident where a woman in her 40s suffered puncture wounds to her arms and abdomen and the man, aged in his 30s, had an unknown substance thrown in his eyes.

Both of them were admitted to hospital and while the man has since been discharged, the woman is continuing to receive treatment.
