A LAST push to get 10,000 signatures on a petition calling on the county council not to sell Radlett Airfield to Helioslough is going ahead this weekend.
The number of signatures is around 9,000 and members of action group STRiFE will be in St Albans city centre this Saturday morning and in Radlett village centre from 10am to midday with a paper petition in an effort to reach the required number of signatures to trigger a debate on the issue at the full county council meeting on March 26.
The petition is also in The Boot pub in Market Place, St Albans, and the online petition can be accessed at https://consult.hertsdirect.org/petitions/petition?petition_id=74614
Should the petition reach 10,000 signatures, it would make history as the first with that number of signatures to go to County Hall.
Cathy Bolshaw of STRiFE, urged people to sign the petition and warned that apathy could be its worst enemy right now.
