BELLS will again ring out from St Albans Abbey as part of 800th anniversary celebrations of Magna Carta – but this time to herald its departure from the city.

At about 11am tomorrow (Friday) visitors to St Albans will hear bells ringing out Beethoven’s Ode to Joy, as the iconic charter begins its journey back to Lincoln Cathedral.

Just four weeks ago St Albans Abbey welcomed the arrival of the historic document – one of just four original 1215 Magna Carta – for its exhibition centred on the parchment.
