Businessman Toni Masi has been invested in an ecumenical order at the Abbey.
Mr Masi, who is the owner of Waterers Menswear which has branches in St Albans and Harpenden, became a Knight of the Order of St David of Wales, St Alban and St Crescentino in the ceremony which followed last month’s Festival Pilgrimage.
He moved to St Albans from Sicily in 1965 and while other Knights of the Order – an association of Christian men and women of good standing within their own churches – live in Italy, he was able to choose to have the investiture in St Albans as his home city for the past 45 years.
