The line-up has been announced for the activities held in Kids Field at this year’s Meraki Festival.
The Meraki Festival will return to St Albans from Friday, August 10 to Sunday, August 12 in Herts County Showground, Redbourn.
From 10am to 7pm each day, the Creation Station will run a craft tent, with a mission to provide “fantastic, fun, family entertainment to keep children busy and happy.”
The Flying Seagull Project, a troupe of clowns, magicians, circus performers and musicians, will put on various performances throughout the festival.
Fundamentally Children, a source of independent advice on play and child development, will be showcasing top picks from their ‘Good Toy Guide’ and will be inviting visitors to come and enjoy their Play Zone.
The Play Zone, which is open from 10am to 7pm, will include a dressing-up box, toys, giant puzzles and a reading area and chill zone.
Gymboree Play & Music will run dance, music and arts classes on Saturday, August 11 and Sunday, August 12 for children and babies aged nought to five years.
Karma Kids will run children’s yoga for children aged three to 11 throughout the festival. The classes use games to take traditional yoga and approach it through the eyes of a child, as well as teaching mindfulness and encouraging imagination.
Children with an interest in science can join the Science Boffins to watch them perform experiments. They will also run an activity table where budding scientists can race to make tornadoes in bottles, test their nerves against a steady hand game, or look at how an air vortex is created.
Finally, Wish Upon A Party will run interactive games on Friday, August 10 and Saturday, August 11 with walkabout characters to entertain children.
