Special guests Kelly Brook, Sugar Ray Leonard and Charlie Webster brought some celebrity glamour to the opening of the new St Albans headquarters of a global footwear company.

Skechers USA Ltd has expanded its footprint in the region with the opening of premises on the Centrium Business Park in Griffiths Way, a 17,500 sq ft office and showroom adjacent to the Premier Foods building on the same site.

The glittering line-up of stars, who all feature in Skechers promotional campaigns, were joined by representatives from the St Albans community, including Mayor Cllr Frances Leonard, St Albans City FC boss Lawrence Levy, Maltings Shopping Centre manager Phil Corrigan and Chamber of Commerce executive director Lisa Bates.

Lisa said: “We are delighted that global brand Skechers have chosen St Albans as their new home: a dynamic and forward-thinking business right in the heart of our city. We look forward to working with them more closely going forward as they are very keen to help the St Albans community.”

Pete Youell, Skechers managing director UK and Ireland added: “We are pleased to move our Skechers UK and Ireland operations to the historic city of St Albans. We are proud to call St Albans our new home and we looking forward to inviting all our clients to visit our new amazing showroom in this unique English Cathedral city with the beautiful green countryside surroundings.”
