Philomena, the adoption drama based on a St Albans resident, has triumphed at the Oscars nominations announcement today.
The movie is in the running for best adapted screenplay, best picture, and Judi Dench, who plays the district’s very own Philomena Lee, has been nominated for best actress.
Winners will be announced at the 86th Academy Awards on Sunday, March 2 in Hollywood.
