STUDENTS at Francis Bacon School in St Albans had good reason to jump for joy after receiving their GCSE results - the school's best ever.
The school notched up 63 per cent five A*-C grades, a 15 per cent improvement over last year, which endorses the judgement made by Ofsted inspectors in June that there was clear evidence of improving standards of achievement at Francis Bacon.
Head Jacqui Verrall said: "These results must be credited to the perseverance of the students and the resilience of the staff to remain focused on learning. This now makes a perfect start for the Year 11 students returning to being the further studies in the sixth form. An amazing results for the students.
