Enthusiastic hymn singers are invited to St Albans Cathedral on Easter Monday for a recording of the BBC’s flagship religious programme, Songs of Praise.
The BBC will be filming an evening of well-loved hymns, with popular and familiar tunes, in the cathedral from 7pm to 10pm on March 28.
BBC producer Pamela Hossick said: “All enthusiastic singers are welcome to join the congregation – whether you’re an experienced choir member or more often air your voice in the bath or in the back pew on Sunday mornings, Songs of Praise would like to hear from you.”
To join the congregation that evening, an application has to be made for free tickets which can be found on the BBC Songs of praise website.
St Albans Cathedral’s Easter Sung Eucharist will also be broadcast live on BBC One on Easter Sunday, March 27. Anyone wishing to attend, has to be seated by 8.45am.
