ST ALBANS: Unemployment levels in the district have fallen despite the hostile economic environment.
The number of people claiming Jobseekers Allowance fell during November and December according to data released by the Office of National Statistics.
There were 1,441 people claiming the benefit in November which fell to 1,395 in December, which means that 1.6 percent of the population of St Albans were claiming last month.
Over the last year, the number of people claiming Jobseekers Allowance in Hertfordshire has also fallen by 2,363.
