An assault on a woman in Jersey Farm woodland park may be linked to two similar attacks, police believe.

On Tuesday, August 1, at around 11.45pm, the woman was walking through the park when she was rugby tackled to the floor.

Her male attacker then ran off.

Police have said this may be linked to similar attacks in the park this Summer.

On the evening of Sunday, June 25, a woman in her 40s was tackled to the ground in the park.

Then on Monday, July 17, at around 7pm, a woman in her 30s was followed by a man, who then grabbed her by the legs, pushing her to the ground, before he ran away.

The man was described as white, in his early 20s, around 5ft 8in, and of slim build.

He was clean shaven, and had dark bushy eyebrows.

PC David Vass said of this incident: “Though the victim was not physically harmed during this incident it was an understandably distressing situation for her.

“I want to reassure the community that this type of incident is unusual in St Albans and we are doing all we can to trace the offender.”

Police have increased patrols in the area, and are asking anyone with information to get in touch via 101, quoting reference number F1/17/3681.
