JAMIE Oliver’s representatives have confirmed that the celebrity chef is looking into bringing an Italian restaurant to the city centre.
The rumour mill has been buzzing for some time with word that a new branch of Jamie’s Italian will be opening in Chequer Street inside the former The Bell premises, which closed around two-and-a-half years ago. Planning permission was originally sought to convert the pub into shops.
While nothing is “100 per cent confirmed”, Jamie Oliver’s team today said that they are looking into the possibility of taking over the building and opening a new restaurant.
