MEET the Mayor is the invitation from Cllr Chris Oxley on Saturday.

He has invited residents to St Albans Town Hall for a chance to question him or discuss any topic relating to the district in line with the mayoral year theme of "Your Community - Our Community"

.Time with the Mayor will be allotted on a first come first serve basis from 10am to 4pm.

Representatives from the Mayor's principle charity, St Albans' Citizen's Advice Bureau as well as the Council for Voluntary Services will be available for residents to talk to and seek help with any problems they might be experiencing.

Cllr Oxley said: "Having been a councillor for more than 15 years, I have experience of many aspects of the council's work and a broad knowledge of the city and district. I am keen to try and use this experience to help residents find their way through the maze of what can and cannot be done and to do this on a friendly basis, face to face.

"I promise not to duck the difficult questions. If it turns out that I don't know the answers to some of the questions put to me, I will arrange for written answers to be provided.
