AN INQUEST has been opened and adjourned into the death of a 38-year-old motorcyclist.
Derek Hayward, of Rye Close in Harpenden, died on Monday at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge - nearly two weeks after he was involved in an accident in St Albans.
He was travelling along the Harpenden Road when he was in collision with a car waiting to turn right into Green Lane on the afternoon of Tuesday June 23.
A post-mortem has found the cause of death to be multiple traumatic injuries, subject to confirmation at the inquest into his death which was opened and adjourned yesterday (Wednesday).
