POLICE are appealing for information and witnesses after �1,000 worth of cigarettes were taken in a burglary at WH Smith in St Albans last week.
The offender forced entry to the front door by breaking the window at the store in Market Place, during the incident between 12.20am and 12.30am last Thursday, January 13.
Once inside, he removed a large number of boxes of cigarettes, before running off along Upper Dagnall Street. The thief was said to be wearing a long dark-coloured trench coat.
