A CHARITY shop in Harpenden turned pink last Friday to herald breast cancer awareness month which runs throughout October.
The Cancer Research shop’s many volunteers donned various shades of pink, along with crazy wigs and, in one male volunteer’s case, high heels, to raise money and awareness on Harpenden High Street.
Manager Debbie Hutchinson said: “It was a fantastic day and we raised an impressive 460 from on-the-street donations and the special pink items that we had on sale. It’s such an important cause and we’re really touched by everyone’s support and commitment to the cause. We’ve got lots of pink clothes and accessories, which we’ve held back especially for this month.”
