Tax on Radlett households will increase by an average of £5 for 2018/19 after Hertsmere borough council agreed their budget last night.
This is the same increase as last year and means a resident in a Band D property valued between £68,000 to £88,000 will pay an average of around £172 for the year.
The council’s portfolio holder for finance John Graham said: “At a time when money from central government is declining, we are working to provide both a continuing and growing range of services to our residents.
“This small council tax increase, set out in the budget which was agreed by full council last night, is essential to enable us to continue to deliver these key frontline services.”
Next year the central government’s grant to the council will decrease by £432,000.
It is estimated the rise in council tax will bring in £203,000 and the deficit will be filled by efficiencies and other sources of income such as commercial property rent and planning charges.
