THE SCALE of the proposed development for a run-down area in St Albans can be seen in images released to the Herts Advertiser today.
The plans show the intentions of Spen Hill Developments for the former Evershed Printworks site and the surrounding areas including London Road, Inkerman Road and Alma Road.
The model shows the 100 homes that the developers hope to build on the site which had been earmarked by Tesco for a giant supermarket until they withdrew their plans after meeting with public opposition.
Tesco still own the land and intend to regenerate the area and this will include a proportion of affordable housing. The new homes, which will be town houses, will be built around a garden square designed by architects Benson and Forsyth.
Spen Hill Developments are holding a public exhibition tomorrow (Friday May 20) from 1pm-8pm and on Saturday (May 21).
