Time is money, but it will also soon be history at a local farm attraction.
As part of the build-up to the start of construction of a major new themed adventure play area featuring Peter Rabbit, a time capsule will be buried at Willows Activity Farm in Coursers Road, London Colney.
A copy of the Herts Advertiser, to give future generations a glimpse of life in St Albans district in 2015, will be included in the capsule along with Peter Rabbit books and other paraphernalia.
The items will be buried this month underneath a century-old ash tree that, as part of the over £1 million project, will be transformed into the Peter Rabbit secret treehouse, the centrepiece of the new attraction.
A plaque will also be placed on the tree to commemorate the occasion and a letter from Willows’ chief executive Andrew Wolfe will explain the contents of the capsule for future generations.
He said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Peter Rabbit to Willows next year and what better way to mark the beginning of the construction of the new area than with a time capsule?”
The UK’s first Peter Rabbit adventure playground is opening in April next year, to coincide with the 150th anniversary of the birth of Beatrix. It will feature new play areas centred on the much-loved stars of the animated CBeebies series Peter Rabbit.
